Topout is a climbing training tracker for iOS. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
Topout does not collect personal information. All data you enter — climbing sessions, grades, sets, projects, training notes, and any photos or videos you attach to climbs and projects — is stored exclusively on your device using SQLite and your device's local file storage. No data is ever transmitted to external servers, and Topout has no backend infrastructure or user accounts.
Topout may request access to your device calendar so you can optionally add logged climbing sessions as calendar events. This permission is entirely optional. If granted, calendar data is used only to write events you explicitly create inside the app. No calendar data is read beyond what is needed to write those events, and nothing is stored outside your device.
Topout may request access to your photo library so you can optionally attach photos and videos to your climbs and projects. This permission is entirely optional. When you select media, a copy of the chosen files is saved into Topout's own on-device storage; the app only reads the items you explicitly pick and never browses or uploads your library. Topout does not use your camera or microphone. Attached media stays on your device and is never transmitted off it.
Topout may request permission to send local notifications for optional training reminders. These notifications are scheduled entirely on-device. No notification content or schedule is transmitted off your device.
All app data is stored locally in an on-device SQLite database, with attached photos and videos saved in Topout's local file storage. This data remains on your device and is subject to your device's standard backup settings (iCloud Backup, if enabled by you). Topout also lets you optionally export your data to a file and import it later; an exported file is shared only to the destination you choose through your device's standard share sheet. You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling Topout.
Topout does not integrate any third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or data-collection SDKs. No data is shared with, sold to, or accessible by any third party.
Topout does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Because no data leaves the device, no personal information is collected from any user regardless of age.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
